NURSAL TENS Unit Rechargeable Electronic Pain Relief Massager Review

NURSAL TENS Unit Rechargeable Electronic Pain Relief Massager ReviewThis little TENS unit, though truly pocketable and easy to carry pretty much anywhere in a backpack or handbag, offers serious pain relief and massage capabilities.

Features

First off, this TENS unit is FDA-certified, which is great for any health-conscious buyers. According to NURSAL, this unit doesn’t come with any side effects at all, making it perfect for users who want pain relief without the side effects that more typical over the counter or prescription painkiller medications come with.

Furthermore, one of its most standout features is its portability. Many TENS units claim to be portable, and they are, but it can be hard to take them truly anywhere. Often, a bigger backpack or similar luggage might be necessary.

However, this Nursal unit is so small that you could easily just take it to work everyday bring while you’re stepping out for lunch. The device itself fits in the palm of your hand, and the pads are roughly the same size as well. The wires attached to the pads are also pretty flexible and coiling them or storing them in a bag isn’t an issue. Basically, you can bring this TENS unit wherever you want, which is a huge advantage.

This TENS unit is designed for dual output. Basically, that means that if you attach four cables and their corresponding pads, you can simultaneously treat two completely different parts of your body. It’s an option, though, and not a requirement. You can also choose to simply treat one area or body part and divert all the power just to two pads for a slightly stronger, but more limited, massage.

This particular TENS unit also uses a rechargeable battery, so there’s no need to worry about finding and replacing batteries for it. With up to ten hours of usage, this battery does pretty well for its size, and you should easily be able to get through a couple of days on a single charge. That said, there is one downside to the NURSAL’s battery design; it can’t be used while it’s charging. If the idea of waiting occasionally for your TENS unit to charge stresses you out, then maybe a different model with removable batteries would be better.

Finally, this model features a large, backlit LCD screen right on the face of it, with a control wheel lying directly underneath it. Besides the attached cables and electrode pads, it actually looks pretty similar to an older model of iPod from the early 2000’s. That’s a good thing; almost all users will be familiar with said control scheme.

Massage Technique

As far as TENS units go, this one is pretty easy to dial in; it has twenty (20) different levels of intensity available. Furthermore, its settings are based on real-world massage techniques such as cupping and acupuncture.

While you won’t get a physical massage in the sense that a massage chair would give you, this unit will give you a massage sensation through the electrode pads, depending on which setting you pick when choosing your massage and this TENS unit is capable of providing a very powerful massage.

Quality

This TENS unit is fairly cheap, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good quality. This model should be within almost any buyer’s range, but anybody who needs a TENS unit should be satisfied by it. While it may not be super flashy or premium looking, it just does exactly what you need it to do: offers solid TENS therapy at a reasonable price.

Material

This NURSAL tens unit is made mostly of plastic. That’s not particularly remarkable in and of itself, however, as most TENS units have a plastic housing. The body is sleek and gray, with accents around the screen and on the control wheel which are designed to look like metal.

The only other standout fact about the construction is that even though there’s a big LCD screen on that front that’s easy to read, it unfortunately isn’t a touchscreen. At this point in 2019, we would have liked to have seen a touchscreen on the device for more intuitive control. It feels a bit outdated, actually, to have such a large screen but then to only be able to control it with the control wheel below and the buttons on the sides.

Pros and Cons

Summary

Overall, this NURSAL TENS unit is a solid, midrange option that offers good TENS therapy at an accessible price. It’s not the designer handbag of TENS units, and we would have preferred a touchscreen, but it’ll get the job done. The controls work, the settings are decently designed, and it’s incredibly portable. This is one unit you really can take everywhere with you.
